International program to strengthen the resilience and capacities of Russian civil society organisations, human right defenders, activists, independent media and journalists inside and outside the country through various opportunities.
CALLS FOR PROPOSALS:
- Civil society organisations*
Travel and networking grants for representatives of civil society organisations, including offline team meetings, the attendance of international or regional events, and the participation of a CSO/initiative group representative in an exchange, training activity or fellowship programme.
- Human rights defenders*
Urgent support to cover emergency costs of up to €3 000 for individuals and up to €5 000 euros for collective applications; as well as up to €5 000 euros for the implementation of individual projects.
*Definitions:
- Civil Society Organizations (CSOs): civil society refers to all forms of social action carried out by individuals or groups that are not affiliated with or governed by the state.
- Human rights defenders: from the UN Declaration on Human Rights Defenders: "Article 1. Everyone has the right, individually and in association with others, to promote and to strive for the protection and realization of human rights and fundamental freedoms at the national and international levels." Under this program, we understand human rights defenders as all those who defend human rights, including activists, journalists, artists, academics, active citizens, etc.
